Social Media Strategy

2021 has begun as a good year. Despite the lingering consequences of Covid-19 2020 was a good year in which the business grew and a number of projects and ongoing clients emerged.

Nova May has flourished and as a direct consequence of that less time has been allocated to social media and blog posts.

Initially I felt a little guilty about neglecting this part of the business. I then had an epiphany thought when I realised that social media works to bring you clients and business. This is the end of goal of a social media stategy. Anything else is a deviation.

Do you work for your social media or does it work for you? This distinction is an important one. I often see small business owners with massive social media output and wonder how much cash does it truly generate for their business? Are businesses chasing actual success or the illusion of success?

Similarly I have seen small businesses create social media strategies that have had a direct, and enormous, impact on their business positively.

The trick it would seem is to have a goal. Have an idea of what you want your social media to do for you. A solid metric. This might be sales, clients or some other definative goal.

Likes, follows and comments hold no direct monetary value. Remember that always.

I would apologise for not posting in a long time. But that would miss the point entirely. I have been busy with clients and projects, the core parts of the business. No business should ever feel guilty about that.

Social media is a powerful tool, however it can be a double edged sword. If you don’t have a clear plan instead of you using it, it can use you.

To all readers and clients I hope you are all keeping as best possible in these times. I am available, as always, if I can help in any way.
