We ran towards the icy water. Legs stinging as the cold clear Atlantic stung at us like a thousand bee stings. Each wave brought us more of the intense cold water until, when waist deep, I dove into the Sea and began to swim.
Imagine starting each day and getting your least favourite or most dreaded task first. Everything thereafter is slightly easier, flows more freely and this habit builds confidence and an ability to persevere.
This is what lead me to join the New Year’s Day swim in the icy waters of the Atlantic. I wanted to face the unpleasant and the difficult on the first day of the New Year. To set my stall out for the coming year.
I have been experimenting with this philosophy recently with work, friends, family: with everything. I’ve been getting some amazing results with the approach as well.
By starting off doing that which you most dread you immediately conquer the day and set yourself up to win the rest of the day. Give it a go, even for a few days and you will notice immediate and profound results.
I wish all the blog readers and Nova May clients a happy and prosperous 2020!
